Lockdown grant funding April 20, 2021 12:04

Its been a while since we have posted about our Charlie's Gift families, so we thought it was time for a little update on what we have been up to here at the charity over recent months. Despite the pressures of COVID, we are still very much up and running and have been busy helping some wonderful children across the Three Counties region.
Since the start of Lockdown we have helped a number of local families with grants of money for some vital pieces of special need and disability equipment for their children. These have included special need pushchairs, a swing seat, a car hoist, garden play equipment, a laptop and even a tow bar and bike rack! All of these items are making such a huge and positive impact on the lives of some incredible children.
We have also been helping children who have sadly had to leave domestic abuse situations to be emergency rehoused with their mums. They often leave their homes with very little in the way of their own possessions and it is families like these that need our support most of all right now.
Over the past few months have been providing grants for basic essentials like bedding and furniture, school uniforms and shoes to children who find themselves in these heartbreaking circumstances. These are all items our own children very much take for granted, but something so simple as being in the right school uniform and in shoes without holes in, really does help to boost a child's self-esteem and helps them to fit more easily into their new school life.
We can't thank you enough as ever for supporting Charlie's Gift. We really can't do this without you!
I will leave you with some photos of the amazing children who have recently received our support for special needs and disability equipment, together with some other items we have funded.
